This project consisted of numerous elements, all manufactured as pieces in an interactive airport-themed board game. We printed a total of ten airplanes, a control tower, a set of seats and pieces of luggage including a suitcase and a rucksack, as well as a full colour Sitting Guard.
The finish of the sitting guard was achieved by printing on a Mimaki full colour 3D printer. The other pieces were printed on our HP MJF, an ideal choice for this job due to the smooth surface finish it provides, meaning very little additional finishing is needed post-print.
Whilst these pieces are designed to be, and will be used, as playable pieces, our client Figure Head Studios also utilised them as prototypes. This made the smooth finish particularly important, as the prints were used to pull casts off.
